Hello, Fall!?! - Susie's Techie Tuesday for Sept. 24th

Image
Hi, Blog Followers! Can you believe that it's technically fall? Holy smokes. Want an easy way to stop melting? Make an appointment with me and come chill (in the AC) with me in my space at your school! Not bothered by the heat? Last week I got some tech coaching in after school when I went for a run with a MS teacher (thank you, Ethel!). And I am always up for a walk and chat! Let's find a way to connect that works for you. I'd love to help! Now on to my tech tips for the week. You can see the tips from the past weeks (or last year) and access all of the links by  clicking on the slide below  and then using the arrows to scroll through the other slides in the deck. This week I've added in a sound component with a podcast episode I think is work listening to. I aim to keep the ones I pick short, sweet and easily listened to online. Have a suggestion for how I can make these emails even more helpful? Let me know what you think! As a reminder, here is the menu of ways I c

Hi, Blog Followers! First off, shout out to the high school teacher who told me that my link to my site was broken last week. Opps! That's what happens when you go from a Techie Thursday to a Tuesday and rename the page. I learned something new because I didn't realize that Google Sites would change the URL on its own. Opps! 😁 Now on to my tech tips for the week. You can see the tips from the past weeks (or last year) and access all of the links by  clicking on the slide below  and then using the arrows to scroll through the other slides in the deck. Have a suggestion for how I can make these emails even more helpful? Let me know what you think! As a reminder, here is the menu of ways I can serve you: Co-Teaching: Two heads are better than one! Let me teach with you for a day! We can work together to make sure that problems are solved and students get the individual attention they need. I should probably be involved in your planning as well for this to be most effective. Goog

Hi, Blog Followers! Phew! What a whirlwind the past week has been. I'm going to focus on the good. A teacher is using a microphone ball (which I acquired from another tech coach) for class discussions, others are setting up Apple Classroom, gradebooks are getting situated and lots of folks are working on setting up productivity systems to make sure they can stay on top of things this year. I'm hoping that there is something that I can do to help you! You'll soon see me wandering the halls and situating myself in teachers rooms so as to connect with more teachers. As Stephen Avery, one of the instructional coaches at the MS, said to the 6th graders on the first day, coaches are a bit like lost puppy dogs looking for a home. I might just find a home in your classroom and come hang out. 😁 Here is my slide of tech tips for this week. You can see the tips from the past weeks (or last year) and access all of the links by  clicking on the slide below  and then using the arrows to

A new year begins! (Techie Tuesday - Sept. 3rd)

Hi, Blog Followers! I can't believe that the 2019-20 school year is under way. Where exactly did summer go? For those of you who don't know me, I am the tech coach for teachers/staff in grades 6-12. As much as my title has tech in it or how much I work with the tech department, I am actually a teacher and am not a tech department staff member. I am here to help YOU with your technology integration. In a way, you can think of me as your go to person for any and all tech professional development needs. But I don't handle tech tickets. We have an awesome group of folks in the tech department that handle those. 😎 Here is the menu of ways I can serve you: Co-Teaching: Two heads are better than one! Let me teach with you for a day! We can work together to make sure that problems are solved and students get the individual attention they need. I should probably be involved in your planning as well for this to be most effective. Google Expeditions would be included in this option.
