Yesterday I presented my news for November at the high school faculty meeting. For those of you who missed it, either via the meeting at the HS or the Monday memo at the MS, here is my Prezi that I used. :)

Empowering Students with Choice Boards

An example of a student choice menu that has students chose one item from each "course". I've been working with a teacher lately who has struggled with her students completing a summative paper in her class. This trimester, we're working together to find a way to increase buy in and hopefully have a higher percentage of students complete the project. While investigating options for her, the first thing that came to mind was using a choice board or learning menu to enable her students to select the method that would work best for them rather than prescribing a multimedia project. There are a wide range of ways that you can put choice boards in to action. Tic-Tac-Toe, Menus, Choice Board... there are lots of different words to use to search for them. Blog Followers, does life feel a comic strip? (Techie Thursday for February 7th)

Hi, Blog Followers! How is it already February?! Kudos to the teacher that asked me for cartoon strip ideas this week. I included my suggestions in this week's slide! Presentation Options in Sway Form

Last week I was supposed to meet with a teacher at the middle school to discuss what options were available for presentations. The list is fairly lengthy, so it is hard to really narrow it down. But, of course, we had a snow day and my meeting was cancelled. To help explain some of the options that I found, I created a Sway (from Microsoft), which is shown below. Overall, I like Prezi , Google Slides , Emaze , or Sway . Any of those seem fairly easy to use and cover a wide range of presentation styles. If you are looking to give your students options, feel free to use the presentation I made to help them choose what they'd like to use.
